Supervin

Supervin is one of Denmark's largest online wine retailers. For the first many years, the company was purely retail, with good wine filling the shelves in the 700 m2 wine shop in Hjørring. In 2007, Supervin started a webshop and it quickly caught on.

With significant online growth, the company faced a lack of space in the warehouse and a need for more hands. In 2021, to meet the increasing demand, Supervin decided to establish a new large warehouse and focus on digitizing its warehouse processes.

Growth sparked a need for inventory management

Logistics Manager at Supervin Nicolai Thomsen says: ”We've grown a lot over the past few years, and this has put some pressure on our warehouse and packing department, so we saw an advantage in the management and overview that LOGIA gives us. LOGIA has really optimized our picking process. We pick the goods, order freight, attach shipping labels, and put the parcels directly on the shipping pallet for the freight route in the same handling. This means we only need to handle the item once from when it arrives at the warehouse until it is packed to order and ready for shipping. This is a big win for us!”

Super-efficient picking, packing, and shipping

To improve workflows in the warehouse, Supervin implemented the warehouse management system LOGIA, which went live in March 2022. The WMS solution manages the entire warehouse and has streamlined all processes from goods receipt to shipping. Supervin has the advantage that it can deliver in the wine boxes - i.e. in the product's own packaging - and thus does not have to pack in additional freight packaging. By utilizing LOGIA’s functionality, which compiles orders into clean freight routes, integrates freight ordering, and prints freight labels to be attached directly to the wine boxes in the same handling, order handling has become significantly more efficient. This is a great advantage for Supervin, and today the company handles day-to-day deliveries efficiently. The picking process has also resulted in less physical strain for employees in the form of less heavy lifting.

Warehouse optimization is bearing fruit

After just six months, Supervin had already achieved many benefits, and now that it has been operating with LOGIA for almost two years, the results speak for themselves. Customer Service Manager Lars Pedersen is satisfied and says: ”Since implementing LOGIA and everything is inventory-controlled, we find that packing errors have been reduced to a minimum. The extra efficiency we experience after implementing LOGIA has also meant that we have reduced our packing staff by 50%,” to which CEO and owner of Supervin, Mads Jensen adds: ”That is correct, and overall, we have reduced labor costs in both logistics and customer service by 50%.”

The results also include several good gains in a better working environment and reduced environmental impact. This is, among other things, in the form of less internal transport, accounting of return pallets, shipping in the product’s own packaging, optimized freight, almost no incorrect deliveries, and thus minimal redeliveries.

The solution integrates with Supervin’s ERP system Visma and the freight ordering system CoolRunner.
